Washington Airport official name is Washington Dulles International Airport that holds IATA Code as IAD is situated in Dulles, Virginia. The airport is 42 km west of the Washington, D.C.downtown. The airport is serving Baltimore–Washington Metropolitan Area, USA. Name of the airport was selected after John Foster Dulles who was 52nd Secretary of State serving under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority manages and operates the airport. This is the busiest airport within the Washington metropolitan area having handled more than 21 million passengers in a year. This way, on average, around 60,000 passengers use airport facilities each day reaching or from more than 125 destinations globally. It is a hub for United Airlines and focus city for the Frontier Airlines.
